What an awesome morning! My brother, husband and friend, Lou, ran a 5K @ the Hammock to support the Red Cross this morning. We had such a great time hanging out and just enjoying the beauty (although humid) of the park and each others' company!
And, to our surprise, we ALL one 1st place in our age divisions. My brother even won the master/male division! Way to go!!
Yesterday at a doctor's appointment with my mother. I was reminded of how we have to take care of these "vessels" for a long time! I enjoy working out, so I'm fortunate. But, for those who don't really enjoy it, look at it as buying a warranty for your life! If we don't eat right and exercise to get the blood moving, we take years off of our life. Now that might be o.k. for some of you, but it's not for me. I want to be around to play with my grandchildren and I want to travel! I don't want to be laying in a bed somewhere because I didn't "plan" for my future. Sometimes, we work out for "vain" reasons, and that's o.k. But, in the bigger picture......it is so that we are here on this earth for many, many more years!
Just get out and do SOMETHING! Move!!!
